Every time i arrive at a photo session I feel the excitement of the moment!

Your surroundings,  a log cabin here, a old rustic brick wall there.  Both which have seen countless moments. I guess what I'm trying to say you bring 2 elements together to try and catch in one sublime moment for all time, a great picture. This element is only heightened when it is a location of your choosing.  Every location has a sweet spot that defines a photo session. When that occurs it is like painting to me.  the texture, lighting, and over all ease of your client.  It is so rewarding to capture that.  Which is one of the reasons I like to say

Fall Portrait Session

Oconee Station near Walhalla SC,  is a great place for a location shoot.

Easily found just about 5 miles off of hwy 11.  Oconee Station has a waterfall

pond and buildings from the 1700's.  This and the fact that it was a great fall evening

made for an awesome shoot!

Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places

It goes without saying that as a photographer I get to see a lot of smiling faces.  Being a resident of South Carolina I would like to share some of the beautiful places that I've done photo shoots, and some that i look forward to getting to photograph someday!.

South Carolina Botanical Gardens

This has been a location for a good many of my portrait sessions. My favorite spot being a cabin they have on the grounds near the second pond.  Love the texture and rustic look it provides as far as backgrounds go.  It is also a great place to take in nature!  Some of my best nature pictures were taken at the gardens!

Located just minutes from downtown Clemson.

Falls Park in Greenville, SC

Located in downtown Greenville's Historic West End.  Offers a little bit of nature with waterfalls, walking paths, and the Liberty Bridge.  Your also close to a bunch of nice downtown restaurants, as well as the Peace Center.  Ideal for family, engagement, and bridal portraits!

Poinsett Bridge

Located just north of Greenville off hwy 25 heading toward Ashville.  The bridge was built in 1820, and is the oldest surviving bridge in SC.  Best time of year to utilize this great spot are fall and spring.  Most suitable for portraits, and bridal portraits.

Those were just a few of the many locations in which I've had photo sessions in the area.  

Here are a few that i know about and would like to someday book, either a bridal, engagement, and or wedding.

Old Sheldon Church Ruins

The first church service held here was way back in 1757.  Was set on fire during the Revolutionary War, and rebuilt in 1826.  In 1865  Sherman's troops burned the church a second time on their march to the sea.  It was never rebuilt.  The ruins are located near Beaufort.

The Atalaya at Huntington Beach State Park

Like the Botanical Gardens located near Clemson, this location offers a lot of nature for you to take in, as well as the Atalaya. Was the residence of 

Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington.

 Archer Huntington modeled the couple’s winter home in the style of the Moorish architecture of the Spanish Mediterranean coast..  An excellent choice for both weddings, and bridal portraits!

Located  south of the Myrtle Beach area.

Based in Anderson I do travel through out the state SC, and beyond.

Getting a photographer for your wedding

I've been asked a number of times, when is the best time to hire a photographer for your wedding.  Ideally shortly after your engaged to insure that you get the photographer you want.  I would also say given a 1 year or more engagement at least 6 to 8 months before your wedding.  The same would go for anyone that is service oriented. (  caterers, dj's, venues ).  This increases the chances that you will get your pick of each.  This allows you to enjoy the time leading up to your wedding!
